We have found an excellent currency conversion script for any site that sells anything. What the script does is lies in the code of your web page. When a visitor connects it detects what country they are in and shows a currency conversion next to ANY price on your site, whether that price be in the main pricing area of a shopping cart or just typed into an info page.

Example

Your business is in the USA then any product price will obviously look like this

$5.99

If the user is from the USA the that is all they see. However if I connect to your site from the UK I would see

$5.99 (£4.19)

The script reads where the visitor is from, then reads the figure on your page then connects to an exchange service to give a conversion based on the current exchange rate.

No need for your clients to select or click anything, no need for you to run currency updates on your sites.

The Price??

The actual service is free it just costs you a little ad for their site at the very bottom of your sites pages. Or if you are flush you can pay them $99 a year remove the ad and get visitor stats for your site thrown in.

I recommend go for the free one the ad wont distract at the bottom of your pages.

Install it yourself. How to...

   1. Visit their site here and sign up for a free account.
   2. Log in and fill out the form as follows for the neatest solution
   3. Enter your domain in the first box
   4. Set base currency and default currency to your own currency $ £ € what ever.
   5.  Base currency symbol: leave blank unless you do not use $ £ or €
   6. Leave the next three boxes as they are
   7. Leave auto scan checked
   8. Un-check/un-tick all scanning exceptions
   9. Check the on page conversion Box
  10. Select the currencies you want to allow by holding down ctrl on your keyboard and selecting currencies with your mouse.
  11. In next box un-check the currency selection box option to disable it it looks messy on your pages.
  12. Next section with header details leave as is.
  13. In the "  Same currency text" box delete everything to leave it blank.
  14. Leave the brackets as are in next two boxes ( )
  15. Un-check "Include before/after text   with same currency text"
  16. Next three boxes leave checked
  17. Currency display format select this one $1,000.00
  18. Click save changes and the oage will refresh

You will now be given the script code in the little box

This needs to be copied and pasted just before the < / body> tag of your website.

If you use cubecart you need to add it to the index.tpl file which you navigate to as follows.

Your site>public_html>skins>yourskinname>styleTemplates/global/
