| We only have 3 rules for use of mailing lists on
our servers. Breaking any of these rules can result in suspension of
your hosting account please read them! They are as follows:
THE LIST MUST BE DOUBLE OPT-IN There are no exceptions to this rule. When a user signs up for your mailing list they must be sent an email with a clickable confirmation link. It must be mandatory to click that link before the user is added to your list. This is to protect you and the 2001web servers and IP addresses from spam accusations. It is accepted legal protocol for newsletters. THE USER MUST BE ABLE TO UNSUBSCRIBE AT ANY TIME AND IMMEDIATELY Again this is accepted protocol and guards against spam complaints. The user must be offered a clear unsubscribe LINK in all copies of your newsletter sent out. Please note that "Reply with unsubscribe" IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. You must use a fully spam compliant mailing list software that offers an automated link for the client to remove themselves from your list immediately. THE LIST MUST NOT SEND MORE THAN 200 EMAILS AN HOUR All hosting accounts on our servers have a 200 emails per hour sending list this is to combat spammers signing up for a hosting account, sending thousands of spam emails and getting our server blacklisted. This is to protect ALL clients and is not negotiable. We recommend sending 150 emails an hour from your newsletter software so you leave room for normal site email being sent. |
