What is a domain name???

Without getting too technical, just like your house websites have an address so that people can find them.

Their actual address is a numerical number like 89.57.451.498 but people are hardly likely to remember that now are they?

So websites need a domain name to point to their numerical address.

A domain name is simply the www.SOMESITE.com a site is known as.

Domain names have to be rented yearly from a domain registrar and can vary greatly in price we have seen them at rediculous prices like $30 a year.

You can order one from 2001web for just £6 (approx $12) per year.

First you will need to search for a domain name that is available obviously you cant rent Google.com someone else already has that.

If the name you wanted has gone just get imaginitive and try some variations on the name.
