Post In The Right Directories

No matter what your product or service I guarantee there are niche specific directories or mini search engines created especially to advertise your product or service.

These sites can be an excellent source of free long term traffic.

Let us say for example you sell flowers. Go to any search engine and type in "Flower directories" or "Flower site directories" I guarantee you will find many sites to list in.

Do this with multiple search engines as the sites at the top of Google will be different from those at the top of Yahoo or MSN.

Many of these sites will require a link back on your main page to list your site. This is fine but try to keep those link backs to text links as too many images will slow down your page loading speeds which can result in loss of clients. I often place such links in the footer of my main page.

Others may charge a small fee for you to list (this way you do not have to give them a link on your site) or they may offer featured listings. If these are within your budget give them a try. Remember you found them at the top of a search engine so they WILL have visitors who are looking for your product or service. You can capitalize on that without worrying constantly about getting your own site to the top of the search engines.

Check your aw stats from your control panel each month and see which sites send you the most visitors. If one of them isn't then do not pay any more for a listing.

Niche directories/search engines are well worth listing in. Just find the correct sites for your product or service.
